August so far

We've been having lots of snuggle time with Lucy. Nolan often says things like, "I just can't get enough of Lucy!" I'm glad to see that he has a soft, loving side that doesn't usually come out with Ezra. I know just how Nolan feels... I can't seem to get enough of this sweet girl. She has a very content personality and rarely makes a peep except to eat. She loves to be held and snuggled, but is happy to be in her bouncy seat when things need to get done around the house. Her sweet smiles have been such a joy this month! And yes, I am still having so much fun with all the pink and all the bows!

Here's the first smile captured on camera. She's exactly 5 weeks.
We recently got Justin a tablet to help with his calling as Young Men's president, and the boys love to play on it. When it was time to eat and Nolan didn't come to dinner when called, this is how we found him: asleep with the tablet on his lap. Funny boy!
A few more of Lucy's cute smiles:
Sweet little Tootsie Roll. She always wiggles an arm out of her swaddle blanket and then wakes herself up when it starts swinging around.
We had a visitor come this month: Nana! She came all the way from Missouri. She spent a few days in California, a few days in St. George, and then my Dad brought her to visit Lacey and me and meet Lucy. It was so good to see her again. She loved and held Lucy nearly every second she was here. The boys were really excited to have her here, too. The only trouble is that Nana has a hard time hearing even with her hearing aids, so it was hard for her to understand what the boys were saying. Ezra showed off his lovely grumpy personality, but Nana just kept saying, "Don't worry, he'll outgrow it." I hope that Nana knows best! Nana took us all out for a Mexican dinner the first night, and we had a big dinner at my house on Nana's last night. It was a long, hard goodbye. Nana is nearly 95 years old and she worries that it might be the last time she sees us. Kendyll was especially sensitive. Nana is quite healthy though, we'll probably be seeing her in a couple of years!
Nana and Nolan's hug was so big that they fell over laughing!
Ezra is showing Nana how to play games on my phone.
Out to eat with all the crazy kids. Justin was camping with the Young Men for the night.

Baby Shower

At the beginning of August, several of my good friends threw a double baby shower for me and my friend, Brianne. After two boys, they said we deserved to have friends shower us with pink and ruffly girl gifts. What a fun surprise... they were so nice to do that! Thank you, thank you to Michelle, Anne, and Monica! They made a delicious dinner of salads and several yummy treats. There were lots of friends (I wish I'd gotten pictures of everyone!) from our ward there... probably 17 or 18! I'm so thankful for all the love and darling baby gifts. It was so much fun the next morning to pull the clothes out again and organize them by size.

Finishing up with nursing Lucy before diving into the mountain of presents.
There were several homemade hats that were so darling we had to try them on immediately. Everyone oogled over how cute Lucy looked and had to take pictures!

Baby Blessing

Lucy's blessing day was July 28th in the Lighthouse Ward. It was a wonderful day with lots of family. Those who attended: Grandpa John and Grandma Sherri; Keeley and Bryan, Blake, Kamrie, and Ethan; Rob and Lacey, Ryan, Kendyll, and Travis; Russ and Alysa, Haley, Rachel, Kate, and Josh; Grandma K. and Great-Grandma Moulton. Justin gave a beautiful blessing and Lucy was such a good girl despite having the hiccups throughout. She sure looked cute in her little sweater dress and bracelet from Grandma Sherri!

After the blessing, Daren and Noel, and their kids, Josh and Jessica, came over too. What a yummy lunch complete with personal fruit pizzas for dessert.

Park City; 4 weeks old

Pics from Lucy's 4th week:

She loves tubby time! One time I put her in so that she could have a little awake time before going to bed later, and she was so relaxed that she stayed asleep for a few minutes. Maybe she felt like she was back in the womb! The boys love to gather around and watch her have a tubby. It's a family affair!
Keeley's family and my mom were staying the week in Park City for the annual school shopping trip, so Lacey and I drove up for the day on Wednesday and again on Friday. We weren't up for packing everything and trying to sleep over. The kids had a fun time swimming with cousins and it was great for me to get out of the house and talk to other adults. Keeley's family was excited to meet Lucy for the first time.
Travis and Ezra are little copy cat buddies!

Lucy's 3rd week

Some cute moments from when Lucy was 3 weeks old:

Nolan often says things like, "Lucy is the cutest baby ever." and "I just can't get enough of Lucy." And when he talks to her, the only thing he says is, "I love you, Lucy" over and over. Melts my heart. If only he'd be half as nice to Ezra instead of teasing and bugging all day! Lucy really seems to have bonded with Nolan as well. Whenever he holds her she often relaxes and goes right to sleep.
I was ready to venture out of the house (and the heat) for a little longer than a typical grocery store visit, so we headed to Silver Lake for a stroll around the lake and a picnic dinner. It was so beautiful outside and Lucy loved snuggling with Dad in the Baby Bjorn. At one point that boys took off ahead of us. Neither of us could chase them very well because I was 3 weeks postpartum and Justin had Lucy strapped to his chest. When we caught up to them, they were climbing this rock face. They thought it was fun until they had to come down! They were both scared at how steep it was and it was a good lesson not to leave their parents.
Lately the boys have had such a hard time settling down at night. They laugh, they fight, Ezra screams, they sneak my phone or the DS and play games or watch Netflix. It seems like it takes an hour from lights out until they're actually asleep. After an especially frustrating night when Justin and I had gotten angry with the boys, I went in to find that they'd had decided to cuddle in Nolan's bed. They hadn't done this in a long time. It's nice to know that even though they fight a lot, there's still some love!
Nolan had a birthday party to attend and Ezra wanted to have his own party, so we pulled out the slip 'n slide. He loved it! Even Lucy enjoyed relaxing on the blow-up toy. Daddy gave it a try, but it turns out that he doesn't know how to actually go down! He just stopped. I think we should have applied a little more dish soap for him.
I can't get enough of this baby girl! The time with her is going way to fast... I know that in only a few months I'll look back and wish she could be this size again.
