Big bonk

Nolan has just recovered from a hard bonk to the head. He slipped on some books and nailed the corner trim of the closet. It turned into a massive goose egg with a blue line running down the middle. Scary! Of course the pictures don't really show it too well. Our camera's flash is so obnoxious sometimes. We hope he doesn't have a concussion... I don't know anything about those but it sounds like a frightening word.
Yesterday afternoon we went to Cherry Hill water park just north of Lagoon. We had a really nice time together and Nolan absolutely loved going down the water slides... he didn't even mind the dark tunnels. You had to sit on these mats and it was amazing how fast we got going. We met up with Lacey and her family. They were nice enough to watch Nolan while Justin and I went on the Cardiac Canyon tube ride (no little tikes allowed). It was pretty fun until we got stuck in a whirlpool area and another man came around the corner, flipped off his tube and nailed me in the head with his foot. His glasses had fallen off and he looked pretty freaked out. Good times. I love swimming because Nolan is so peaceful and sleepy afterward. It was good to have one last wet hurrah to end the summer. Justin kept flirting with that glistening mermaid... other than that it was a great trip.

Yesterday was probably a great hot day to play in the water at cherry hill. It sounds like a fun place! At least you're cuter than the mermaid, Kenzee, so there's nothing you have to worry about! :)

Scary! I dont know much about concusions but I do know that when you put them to sleep if they wake up throwing up then they have a concusion... (i think).... Cherry hill looks like sooo much fun! Lucky!

Poor Nolan! It is scary when you're not sure about the whole concussion thing. I've always wanted to try out Cherry Hill, I've heard it's tons of fun. Looks like you guys had a blast! Sounds like you got to go right before this cool weather! Great timing.

Looks like a fun water day. And ouch for Nolan. I remember when Paige got her first HUGE goose egg. There seems to be a few spots on the head that get rediculously huge when they hit it. But they have always been fine!

These are the 3 questions the nurse asks at my work when someone presents with a bad bonk to the head 1-did they lose consciousness? 2- have they vomited more than one time? 3-are they acting different? If the answer is no...no concussion. Hope that helps. He is a boy, so that is the first of many goose-eggs:) Cherry Hill looks like a lot of fun!

What a blast! You two are the cutest parents. Nolan is such a brave little kid. We tried to take Rocky swimming the other day, and he refused to get in the water. Don't worry about Nolan... I think kids are super durable at that age. And that mermaid has nothing on you Kenz.... except maybe she's a faster swimmer. Maybe.

Poor Nolan with his goose-egg. If he is like my kids it is the first of many.

I love Cherry Hill. It is the perfect place for young families. We had season passes this year, but Kate will barely put a toe in still!
