Long week

Nolan and I made it back from St. George last Thursday. My parents drove me home since they needed to catch a flight the next day. They're in Palmyra and Niagra Falls with my sister, Lacey, this week... lucky! It was so great to be in St. George, but I have to admit that Nolan made it difficult to relax at all. He can open my parents' doors throughout the house so we'd continually find him in their bathroom. It seems like we were always walking through the house trying to find him. The problem with him climbing out of the pack 'n play wasn't too bad. At night I would make sure it was pitch dark and he didn't climb out. Naps took some coaxing, but it didn't take him long to settle down. I hope my Mom and Dad realize how grateful I am that we could move in for the week. You always spoil us!

I was looking forward to a quiet Conference weekend at home, but that' not what we got! Nolan had a low fever from Wednesday through Saturday. There were no other symptoms, so we don't know what caused it. He's also getting his incisors in, which I've heard can be the worse teeth of them all. The combination was horrible! He was either clinging to me with his blanket and puppy, or screaming and whining. It was very tiring emotionally for both Justin and me. Justin wanted to help but it was a "mommy only" type of weekend. Here's a rare moment of peace... not pretty, but it was finally a quiet moment! Thank goodness he's made a turnaround this morning. I'm glad to have my happy boy back. And I look forward to reading the Conference talks next month... it was hard to focus this time around. What I heard was great though. I just love President Monson's stories.

On Sunday after the last session, I just HAD to get out of the house. Nolan desperately needed to run around so we went up Tooele canyon to see the Fall colors. What a relief to see a big grin on Nolan's face as he ran up the hill.

I'm so sorry you had a rough weekend with Nolan! Those days can be so long and tiring. I'm glad he's happy now, and I just love the fall pictures you took in the canyon.

Nolan is such a cutie! That's too bad he had a hard couple of days. I really enjoyed conference too... that parts I could hear and was awake for at least! (Cora and Violet had rough nights this weekend) I guess conference is just a different experience until your kids are say 6???? I hope!! At least we get the Ensign!

Wow sounds like a busy but fun week in STG for you! I would of loved to get together but I had to work every day that week since it was so busy in STG. Im glad you got to come down though, next time we will have to get together!

That's too bad that Nolan hasn't been feeling well. I think Ethan went through the same thing a few weeks ago. He was really moody and a really picky eater. I think it was because of his teeth coming too.

Your pictures make me want to get out of the house and go up the canyon before it is too late. I think Ethan would love it.

I'm sorry you had such a rotten time! Good thing he's so cute and is normally not so cranky.

I'm glad you had fun in St. George and that you're back. We've missed you for the friends get togethers. I am sorry that your conference weekend was with a cranky little guy. You have to geel bad for them when they're teething though, huh. I'm glad he's better. It looks like you had a great time up in the canyon last night...that's really funny because we had planned on going up there tonight for FHE. Great minds think alike I guess! Hope to see you soon.

I was just watching a video of Nolan when he was Jack's age and he seemed just like him, in temperament and activity. I will be coming to you for advice as he gets older! Nolan is so adorable though. Those pics make me want to hug and kiss him. You know...Rocky used to get fevers when he was teething too. I bet that's all it was. Yeah.. it's a good thing you can listen to conference at your own pace on-line or read it later. With kids, it's hard to sit and watch a consecutive hour of anything.

Wish we could have seen you and Nolan. I was going to call you, but the week flew by before I had a chance. Maybe next time!

Kenzee... I just tagged you on my blog. You can do as much or as little of it as you want when you have time, or not. No pressure!

I hear you on the toddler teething/behavior...not fun, but fun if you get my drift. We didn't watch much of conference either due to the little ones, this is why I love the Ensign. Love your fall pictures.
