Justin was acting very strange the morning of "the buy." He wouldn't let me go with him to see it or anything (though I had test driven a similar one two weeks ago). It turns out that he really wanted to surprise me with the extra features it has. I thought it was going to be the more simple model. What a sneak! He was also afraid I would talk him out of it, I guess. We hope that we don't have to buy any more cars for a very long time. Justin will drive the Mitsubishi Lancer since it was time to give up his 1994 Saturn. What a great car that has been for us! I bet the carpoolers are very disappointed to see the Saturn go! I love the new van, though it seems strange to find myself in this stage of life already. Aren't I too young for a minivan?!
In other news, we're wrapping up moving the computer room into our master bedroom so that each little boy can sleep in their own room. What a fiasco! It all started with a trip to IKEA to get a desk and shelves. Naturally this turned into an all-day event as if we were at Disneyland (but without the rides). That place truly amazes me. After we finally picked out what we want, we realized there was no way it would fit in our car. Justin was so annoyed that we'd have to make another trip there. I think that is what really moved the minivan process along. Needless to say, we'll be picking up the desk tomorrow. Nolan is pretty much settled into his new room though. I'm so glad he adjusted well to the twin size bed. On top of all this transitioning, I just had to paint an accent wall in the living room. It was bad timing, I realize now. It has given us a little grief but I think it will turn out. I'll have to post pictures of our "remodeling" once we've got the house put back together.
Ohhh la la, I LOVE IT! How awesome! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat's terrific! I'm so glad you got the leather. It's totally worth it... you'll be so happy next time you clean up apple juice or throw-up!
ReplyDeleteThe dealer took a loss to liquidate the 2008. It's weird how inflated the user car values are. When I drove off the lot, the value actually went up $1600!
ReplyDeleteI really want to see this IKEA I hear so much about, maybe I can come up this summer and you can take me in your fancy new van!? What do ya say?
ReplyDeleteI can't see myself in a minivan either, that's why we bought a crossover instead. It won't hold as many people, but I'm just not ready for a minivan yet. The Honda Odysey is way nice though. The leather is especially good for if your water breaks and you end up leaking on the way to the hospital like I did :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, now another one of us has an Odyssey! And yes, you are too young to be driving a mini van :) I feel that way too but I LOVE IT! I never want to drive anything else...so functional. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYeah for new cars. A minivan makes you sound so mature!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you commented...when I switched my blog to automatically update my blogger friends your address got skipped somehow. Do you remember Elsie Christensen from High School? She did an awesome job on our picture and she is just starting her business so you can tell how talented she is. She lives in Provo and comes down and I snagged her one of the weekends she was her. I have her number if you want it.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm glad I got to see it in person last night...I really like the white. Good thing for that leather! ;) Love the pic of Nolan in the car...too cute!
ReplyDeleteHooray....you finally decided on a minivan!!!! It's about time! It looks beautiful. I still remember when we bought our first minivan...we did no research whatsoever on it. Wish we would of had Justin to help us out a bit back then. Enjoy the minivan stage of your life because when you get teenagers it will be time for a SUV!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll love it. I would love an Odyssey too. I'm jealous of the extra space you'll have.
ReplyDeleteWay cool! I think you need to have more than two kids now that you have the room.
ReplyDeleteCongrats - if that's the right words. A new car (or van) is always so exciting.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, I liked my van too (I had it for a year) Ken't would not drive it, he said it made him look old. Well, I am glad you like it and have fun with it. It looks like Nolan loves the head phones!
