I've been loving watching the Olympics on TV and for our summer book/craft/play group we celebrated the Olympics. My friend, Brianne, hosted and showed the kids a great time. They made flags, got to eat their sno-cone "torch," and had a timed competition that included the balance beam, "diving" into the pool, kicking a soccer ball, jumping hurdles, a somersault, and then a run to the finish line. Nolan really got into it. I was glad to see him hustle and give it his all, what with his first season of soccer coming up. Ezra mainly wanted to sit in the pool. Each participant even earned a gold medal to take home! It was a fun afternoon and I loved my sno-cone, too. I have to admit, I am contemplating the purchase of a shaved ice machine next summer.
