I woke up pretty excited to enjoy an Embassy Suites omelette. I LOVE their breakfasts. Ezra got tired of me talking about the "fancy" breakfast! What a treat to stay at that hotel for free. Almost makes it worth it when Justin travels for work and racks up points.
We headed to the zoo first thing. Just our luck they happened to have a big LEGO exhibit with things designed by kids. It was quite inspiring. The zoo was lovely except for Ezra repeatedly asked, "When will the zoo be over?" He wanted to go back to the Lego area.
These family pictures rarely work out.
And that's the best we could do.
Dad is ready for a nap at 10 a.m.
Ezra kind of looks like this goat.
Lucy was very interested in the Lorikeets...
...until it bit her finger. Then she was sad for a few minutes.
We had a late lunch at The Elephant Deli. I'd love to go there again some time without kids. It was like a fancy cafeteria, but with some made to order items, lots of desserts, meats, and cheeses. There were so many choices but we had to hurry or the kids would get too antsy.
We forgot to get a picture of the incredible view down the mountain.
Lucy didn't care for the cold water on her toes.
I carried Lucy down to give Justin's back a rest.
We took the scenic highway back to Portland and listened to Phantom of the Opera, per Nolan's request. Justin and I love singing along but the pesky voice navigation on the phone kept cutting in at all the best parts! The boys began to drive us nuts in the car and we fantasized for a bit about taking a trip with only Lucy. At the hotel we enjoyed the free drinks and snacks (which was our dinner) at the manager's reception. Somehow the boys had energy to swim and Daddy went with them. Lucy goes to sleep like an angel, once again.

We had some extra time so we decided to drive east to hike Multnomah Falls. Justin used voice recognition on his phone to get directions for Multnomah Falls and it said, "I'm sorry, I cannot find Molten Melanoma Vulva." Yikes! We wouldn't want to go there anyway! We had a pretty good laugh about that. The falls were gorgeous. The 1.25 mile hike was pretty steep (700 ft. gain) and Ez needed a piggy back ride here and there, but we were glad we finished. Lucy was a good girl in the hiking pack. The boys were excited that they had earned their hiking certificates but the ranger's office was closed when we returned! Luckily we had some giant cookies from Elephant's Deli as a reward.
Here's Lucy starting out on the hike.
View from the very bottom. We hiked to the top of the falls and looked down the entire way. What a view it was!We forgot to get a picture of the incredible view down the mountain.
