Oregon Day 3

After one more "fancy" breakfast at the hotel and some time to play on the luggage cart (always a favorite with our boys), we headed to the "Rose Garden" using GPS. We got to our destination 20 minutes and several wrong turns later. As we pulled into a beautiful residential street, we realized that we were in an area of town called "Rose Garden," not the International Rose Test Garden. That's what happens when you aren't precise with the GPS navigation. Oops. It turns out we were still 25 minutes away from the real garden.

We decided to bag it and head to McMinnville. (By now, Justin is starting to get these Oregon places mixed up: McMenamins, Multnomah, McMinnville, etc!) After a stop for fruity shakes and an hour drive, we went to the Evergreen Wings and Waves water park. What a place! We practically had the place to ourselves. There was a wave pool, playground with lots of fun toys, splash pads, the biggest jacuzzi I've ever seen, and 4 large water slides that descend from a 747 plane on the roof.
The kids were in heaven and Justin and I even had a wonderful time because we were never cold. Ez had no desire to do the small slides on the kids area, but he found plenty to do. Nolan, on the other hand, LOVED the waterslides and went down the fast one, called Mach 1, over and over again. It was the kind where you lay flat with your arms and legs crossed. What fun! Lucy loved the jacuzzi... she was so relaxed.
We ate lunch there (the place's only downfall was the lame cafe) and then headed to the science area where you can do experiments and see little exhibits related to water. We had a good time working the locks for our boats to go down the river.
After 5 hours at the water park, we headed to Pacific City to check our our beach house. The drive was another hour or so, but we enjoyed every minute. It was so lush and beautiful, dotted with little cabins and farms along the highway. I fantasized about moving there. We found our little beach house and immediately fell in love. It was perfect for us. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a kitchen and big family room. The garage had an air hockey table, bikes, washer/dryer, and lots of sand toys. Soon we headed to the beach... only a 3 or 4 minute walk. It was so beautiful. Secluded and clean. The water was cold but the boys still loved getting in up to their knees. We returned and built a fire in the little stove and ordered pizza.
And that was when I realized my wallet was gone. Uh-oh. We searched and searched. No where to be found. Starting to get a little panicked but it was still a great day!
